10 things I wish every woman knew…

…while planning a pregnancy, during pregnancy, or navigating the postpartum period.

  1. THERE IS NO HEALTH WITHOUT MENTAL HEALTH.

Your mental health is as important as your physical health.

It is not an optional extra.

It is part of your health.

  1. THE MOM BEHIND THE BREAST IS BEST.

Breastfeeding matters.

But so does the woman doing the feeding.

Your health, your circumstances and your wellbeing matter too.

The wellbeing of mothers and babies cannot be separated.

  1. MOTHERHOOD IS AND, NOT OR.

Motherhood can be joyful AND frustrating.

It gives AND it takes.

You can love your baby deeply AND struggle.

Two things can be true at the same time.

  1. GUILT THRIVES WHEN WE BELIEVE THERE ARE ONLY TWO OPTIONS.

This way or that way.

Right or wrong.

Good mother or bad mother.

But life and motherhood rarely works in two neat categories.

When we allow ourselves to explore the options, we create space for choices that actually fit our health, our baby and our circumstances.

You do not have to force advice, methods or expectations into a life they were never designed for.

Sometimes, seeing more options helps us shed the guilt, and the pressure.

  1. THE BEST WAY TO DELIVER YOUR BABY IS THE SAFEST WAY FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY.

Birth plans matter.

But sometimes circumstances change.

Plans need to change too.

Changing the plan is not failure. It is clever strategy.

  1. EVERY CHOICE IN PREGNANCY CARRIES RISK.

Taking medication may carry risk.

Not taking medication may carry risk too.

We cannot erase every risk factor.

But we can evaluate risks, strengthen protective factors and make careful choices that serve both mother and baby.

  1. FLEXIBILITY IS YOUR SUPERPOWER.

Guidelines are guidelines.

Routine can help us. Structure can make life feel more manageable.

But routine does not need to become rigid and neither do our expectations.

Allow yourself some space to move. To adjust. To respond to what you and your baby need today.

Flexibility is not failure. It is the ability to adapt when life changes.

  1. RESILIENCE IS A SKILL FOR ALL OF US.

Resilience is not something reserved for a lucky few.

It can be understood.

It can be strengthened.

And all of us can develop skills that help us navigate difficult seasons.

  1. CONFIDENT DECISIONS ARE POSSIBLE - EVEN AMID THE OVERWHELM.

Pregnancy and motherhood come with advice.

Lots of it.

Guidelines. Opinions. Social media. Family. Friends. Professionals.

And sometimes they all say something different.

You may not find certainty.

But you can find clarity.

You can understand risk.

You can recognise what matters in your situation.

And you can participate confidently in decisions about your health and your baby's wellbeing.

  1. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF WOMEN STANDING TOGETHER.

Whatever you are struggling with, remember this:

Somewhere in your village, your town, your city, your country or somewhere else on this planet, there is another woman facing a similar challenge.

She is sitting with you, as you are sitting with her.

There is extraordinary power in knowing that we do not navigate motherhood alone.

There is power in women standing together.

And perhaps there is one more thing I want you to know

You do not need certainty to make a good decision.

You need awareness.

You need to understand risk and resilience.

And you need enough clarity to make choices that fit your health, your baby and your life.

This is why I created ARC.

The ARC Workshop helps you move from overwhelm and conflicting opinions towards clearer, more confident health decisions.

A — Awareness

Understand yourself, your health and the decision in front of you.

R — Risk & Resilience

Learn to think about risk differently—and recognise what can be changed, strengthened or accepted.

C — Clarity & Choices

Explore your options and participate more confidently in decisions about your health.

My gift to you

Because your story is unique. Your decisions should recognise that.
